midiMate
midiMate is a specialized, portable MIDI controller, through which we can perform many operations necessary when using the MIDI interface. Essentially, it is the hardware equivalent of the well-known program MIDI-OX, and thanks to its compact design and battery power, it can be used on stage when access to a computer is not possible or is simply inconvenient. The device is equipped with an intuitive user interface, built using a high-quality OLED and an incremental encoder with an integrated button. This device is equipped with the following functionalities:
- Monitoring the MIDI interface and displaying messages sent by instruments in a clear and readable format in the GUI, including all message types and their associated data,
- Receiving MIDI System Exclusive messages (i.e., dumps from instruments) and saving them to the included SD card (compatible with FAT16/FAT32 file systems),
- Transmitting MIDI System Exclusive messages stored as SYX files on the SD card (e.g., for loading sounds and settings into musical instruments),
- Generating parameterized MIDI Clock signal,
- Handling four real-time MIDI controllers, i.e., the ability to send four configurable Control Change messages,
- Handling simple on-screen keyboard to test connected instrument by sending Note-On/Note-Off messages,
- Filtering incoming MIDI messages,
- Providing a configurable Settings Menu with Real-Time Clock (RTC) support,
- Supporting automatic shutdown mode (available only in the Main Menu),
- Monitoring the condition of the built-in battery and the charging process (with built-in USB-C port).
