Roland D2
This time a rather unusual groovebox came in for repair, namely the Roland D2. In this instrument, most of the control panel buttons were not working. These are typical silicone rubber keypads known for example from remote controls, where the contact is made by a deposited graphite layer which degrades over time. Unfortunately, the repair methods known to me using Chinese-made graphite lacquer, reputable graphite adhesive (e.g. Kontakt Chemie 33), or conductive graphite silicone stickers, also made in China, are not durable, but I had no choice and had to use such an unreliable solution, because replacement keypads for this instrument are simply unavailable.
