Yamaha CS-6x
The servicing of this instrument involved only the replacement of two incremental encoders and one potentiometer on the control panel. At the same time, the owner requested that the new potentiometer (CUTOFF) have a noticeable detent at the midpoint of its range (the original one did not have this feature). Although only three components needed replacing, the complexity of the device’s circuitry — the number of connectors, circuit boards, structural elements, ribbon cables, and ferrite cores — was so high that what seemed like a simple repair turned out to be quite labor-intensive.
