Yamaha DX7
This time, a real classic hit my workbench. Ladies and gentlemen… Yamaha DX7 in its first edition. The instrument, even though it turned on, made no sounds. In addition to the general inspection, the following work was performed:
- replacement of the RAM battery,
- programming (loading of presets),
- repair of the power cable,
- recaping of the audio track and PSU unit,
- replacement of the modulation potentiometer,
- LCD display replacement to the OLED equivalent,
- cleaning.
After these operations, the instrument returned to a factory-like state, and certainly a collector’s one.
