Yamaha SY-55
Another Yamaha model from this family in my workshop. This time it deserved a typical service to fix the issues that had been bothering it.
I replaced all micro switches on the control panel (36 pieces), both slider potentiometers (Volume and Data Entry), the RAM backup battery, and also completed the missing knobs. Since used knobs usually reach absurd prices, I decided to 3D print them using durable resin technology, ultimately replacing both elements. You can see the result in the photos — in my opinion, excellent. Finally, I thoroughly cleaned the instrument (inside and out).
In my opinion, this unit looks absolutely fantastic, basically like a brand new instrument (take a look at the photos). The only downside is a slightly chipped front edge of one key (on the underside).
